About Me

My photo
Forest, Virginia, United States
A long time ago, my sophomore English teacher, Father William Campbell, saw something in my writing and predicted that I would someday become a newspaper columnist. He suggested the perfect title for my column--"Leaves of the Palm." Now that I have a little extra time on my hands I've decided to put Father Campbell's prediction to the test. I'm going to start using this blog site not just to reprint opinion pieces I've published elsewhere but to try to get more of my ideas and opinions out there. Feedback is welcome. Eagles, Sequim, WA, Sept. 9, 2013

I'm just getting these eagle photos into the system.  I took them on September 9, 2013, near the Dungeness Spit in Sequim, Washington.  --EFP

Curious Dragonfly, August 31, 2013

Just today, I learned that calendar companies peruse Google Images to find photos they would like to use and that any photos I post here will show up in Google Images.  I know that because a company called me just this morning asking to use the photo of the Point Wilson Lighthouse that I posted to this blog in 2010.  Henceforth, I will start posting my best photographic efforts here.
I captured this image of a dragonfly on August 31 on the Clear Creek Trail  in Silverdale, Washington.  He was hovering right in front of me, checking me out.  --EFP
